The Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador is looking for a creative, detail-oriented person to join us for the busy holiday season and help bring our stories, craftspeople, and events to life.
We are looking for someone who is confident working in Canva, has a strong visual eye, loves social media, and understands how photography, reels and thoughtful storytelling can connect people with a brand.
Working closely with the Craft Council team, this person will support the promotion of our Christmas Craft Fair and our Value Handmade for the Holidays campaign, while helping create promotional materials and engaging day-to-day content across our digital channels that celebrates craft and our membership.
The work will include:
Has excellent attention to detail and a strong visual sense; is comfortable using Canva and social media platforms; enjoys taking photographs and creating reels; understands what makes social content engaging; has sound judgement, can work independently and move quickly from an idea to finished content; and is genuinely interested in craft, creativity, local businesses and storytelling.
The successful candidate will need some flexibility in their schedule to attend events, visit makers and capture content when and where it is happening. Some evening and weekend availability will be required, with scheduling coordinated in advance.
We are interested in finding someone with good instincts, strong attention to detail, creativity and the ability to create polished, engaging content.
This is a full-time contract through the holiday season (Oct - Dec), with a particular focus on the Craft Council’s Christmas Craft Fair and holiday marketing campaign. There is potential for the contract to be extended into a part-time role in the new year.
We want to see what you can create.
Please send us 5-10 examples of your work along with your resume and a brief introduction to yourself and why you're interested in this role. Examples could include social media posts, reels, photography, Canva designs, campaigns or other content that shows us your style and how you tell a story visually.
You do not need a formal portfolio. Links to social media accounts or examples of personal, freelance, school, volunteer or professional projects are all welcome.
