About The Member

Walter George has been creating wood utensils and furniture full time since 2008 "It's all about the wood for me. I am not into fancy decorations. The natural beauty of the wood is usually enough. I enjoy making all kinds of things from wood, somehow I never get frustrated when I am problem solving with wood." Among the many items that Walter makes would be: turned wine stoppers, spoons, Damascus steel knives, walking sticks, breadboards, shave sets (Badger hair brush, turned bowl, razor handle) as well as custom furniture. If it can be made from wood, chances are Walter George has made it. In his previous career, 30 years as an Electronics Technician, Walter had years of experience with detailed work before he turned his lifelong affair with wood into a profession. Now he is best known for his unique, wooden kitchen utensils, Damascus steel knives and custom furniture with clean, Shaker-inspired lines. His spoons and spatulas are hand carved so no two are alike. The Damascus steel knives complimented by exotic wood handles and hand stitched leather sheaths are sought after by outdoorsman, chefs and collectors alike. Walter favours colourful, local woods such as plum, cherry, laburnum and maple for his smaller kitchen items and yellow or white birch for his furniture designs. Every piece is handmade and one of a kind, guarantied. Handmade quality and unique designs are what really matters.
