About the Opportunity

Job Title: Sales Associate (3 positions available)

Location: Shop and Pantry, 155 Water Street (2 positions available)
Hours: Part-Time / Seasonal. 15 - 20 hours per week from May - September. Daytime hours. Must be available to work weekends. 

Location: Quidi Vidi Village Artisan Studios (summer pop-up location) and the Shop and Pantry location at 155 Water Street. (1 position available)
Hours: Full-Time / Seasonal. 30 - 35 hours per week from mid May to the end of December. Daytime hours. Must be available to work weekends.

Our shelves are filled with unique handmade goods, from pottery and textiles to jewelry, prints, and pantry items, all crafted by local artisans. We take pride in creating a warm, welcoming space where customers feel inspired and connected to the creative spirit of our membership and community.

Position Overview:
We’re looking for a friendly, dependable, and creative Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you’ll be the face of our shop—greeting customers, helping them discover unique items, and sharing the stories behind the crafts and the artists who make them. If you’re passionate about handmade goods, love working with people, and have a keen eye for design, we’d love to meet you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers in a warm and engaging manner
  • Share product knowledge and artist stories to enhance the shopping experience
  • Operate the point-of-sale system for purchases
  • Maintain a clean, visually appealing, and organized store environment
  • Assist with inventory management, restocking, and product displays
  • Support marketing efforts by participating in events and promotions.
  • Uphold shop values by fostering a supportive, inclusive, and community-focused environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for handmade and locally crafted goods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Flexibility with schedule, including weekends and occasional events
  • Basic computer skills (POS experience a plus)
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs
