About This Event

Murmurs is an installation evoking the subtle and delicate magical realism of natural spaces. It is composed of fragments of household furniture, paintings, felted creatures and plants, as well as videos and sounds of the natural world. This project investigates the universal connection between craft, nature and folklore. It explores these questions: What sparks of inspiration are lurking in the root structures or soaring in the sky? What story is being told by the hypnotic lull of the sound of the rain, or by the unseen scurrying creatures? The viewer of this immersive exhibit is challenged to tune their awareness to the whispers of secret lives and the murmurs of myths that are just beyond our grasp.
