About This Event

Colour with a U Too is a juried exhibition of 9 art quilts on the theme of diversity and inclusion by Canadian members of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA). “Asked to reflect on diversity and inclusion as the theme of this juried exhibition, Canadian members of SAQA have responded in myriad ways. Employing a wide variety of materials and technical approaches to the art form, the selected artists have produced compelling meditations on Canadian cultural identity. Landscape and other reflections on the natural world emerge as favoured sites to express a sense of national pride and belonging, and abstract compositions with blocks of colour and texture reference the diversity of lives and people, of communities and experiences, in Canada. The result is a diverse range of art quilts, as diverse and varied as the people and country itself.” – Dr. Debra Antoncic, Juror and Director/Curator of RiverBrink Art Museum
