Storytelling Through Sgraffito

$ 65.00 CAD

Monday evening, May 16th, 6:30-9:30 PM

Instructor: Evelyn Roitner

In this hands-on workshop, artist and instructor Evelyn Roitner will guide students through the making of a hand-built cup or vase and decoration with the sgraffito technique. Sgraffito involves a different coloured surface layer that is scratched or carved to reveal the clay body below. Following a brief history of storytelling on pottery, students will design their own images for their vessel. Inspiration can be from memory and imagination or historical and contemporary examples. Finished vessels available for pickup at a later date.
